Unveiled is a daily Bible study website. This page explains, in plain English, what personal information we collect, why, and what your choices are. The short version: if you sign up for the daily email we keep your email address (and your first name, if you give it), we use it only to send you the study, and you can leave at any time.
What we collect
- If you sign up for the daily email: your email address, and your first name if you choose to enter it. Kit also records the date and time you subscribed and whether you confirmed, and whether you open or click emails.
- If you only read the site: we don’t ask for anything and we don’t run advertising or tracking scripts. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps ordinary server logs, such as your IP address and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
- On your device: the light/dark choice you make with the theme button is stored in your browser (local storage) so the site remembers it. It never leaves your device and isn’t used to identify you.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your email address and first name only to send you the daily Unveiled study, and to run the sending (for example, to say hello by name and to send the confirmation email). We do not sell your details, rent them out, or use them for anything unrelated. Our legal basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the form and confirming by email. You can withdraw it at any time.
Confirmation and unsubscribing
After you submit the form, Kit sends you a confirmation email. You are only added to the list when you click the link in it. Every email we send contains an unsubscribe link; one click removes you from the list.
Who handles your data
Your sign-up details are processed for us by Kit (kit.com, formerly ConvertKit), our email provider. Kit stores the list and sends the emails. Kit is a US company, so your details may be processed in the United States; Kit explains how it protects data, including international transfers, in its privacy policy. Our website is hosted by Vercel. We share your information with no one else, except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, Kit keeps a minimal record so that we don’t email you again, and we can ask for the rest to be deleted on request. Addresses that never confirm are not added to the list.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how it is used, ask for a copy in a portable format, and withdraw your consent at any time. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority, for example the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK (ico.org.uk).
Contact
To use any of these rights, or to ask a question about this notice, simply reply to any email we have sent you. Unsubscribing yourself with the link in any email also removes your details from the list.
Children
The daily email is meant for adults and young people who can give their own consent. If you think a child has signed up without permission, tell us by replying to an email and we will remove them.
Changes
If we change how we use your information we will update this page and the date above, and tell subscribers by email if the change is significant. Back to the home page.
